Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assist and determination to strengthening South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) services during an engagement with all the agency's senior administrators in a strategic arranging session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric exams.
Of your 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% of your registered pupils within the education and learning sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the investment national government is creating within the life of bad and vulnerable young children is yielding a favourable impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe explained.
Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted essential milestones and ongoing priorities. She committed to urgently addressing The problem of lasting Management appointments along with the scarcity of staff at most local offices.

With regards to SASSA systems, Tolashe urged management to prioritise increasing sassa payment dates and modernising systems to enhance accessibility, queue management and stop fraud.
